Teacher Appreciation - Big Cook

My wife is Mrs. PTA and signed me up last year to cook for the teacher appreciation in the Spring.. Well it happened today and results were great. Nothing left.

I am so happy to do this for the teachers, who do so much and are under so much stress with the budget shortfalls around here.

For me this is the biggest cook I have done on my Eggs. 60lb of Boston Butt. Cooked with my own rub and injected with my special maple pinapple bourbon concotion. Had it all packed and ready to go this AM and still made it to work ontime. I love it when a plan comes together!

Fireman, police, teachers, and armed forces/veterans/reservists, we can't thank them enough. They make everyones lives better, even folks like Tweev.

pizza cooks will clean anything off an egg, at least inside - well if you cook enough pizzas at one time that is. I have to admite Egg 2 (the one on the left) hasn't been abused as much as its older bro on the right. Both eggs have nice covers they stay under most of the time.

Honestly though if you look inside it's not as clean as it appears - must be my Photoshop Lightroom editing..

Thanks!! You know that Adjustable rig is great. Used my Spiders and a stone with a drip pan and kept plety of space between the butts and a good deal of space at the top too. This worked out well.

IMHO teachers are underpaid and unappreciated. It's very unfortunate seeing they are the builders of society.

Hi Anne,

You know, I'm not sure how many people. My wife did the hard part while I was at work. She pulled the pork and served up butt all day. She said people were coming back for third helpings and making very nice comments (man that makes me feel good). The school is about 1150 students, so whatever that turns out to be for staff.

Beautiful cook for a great cause! Teachers are some of the most under appreciated folks in the world if you ask me. Our daughter is just in daycare/preschool, but we ALWAYS make sure to go out of our way for teacher appreciation week, they deserve it.
