Injecting Pork Butts

Anybody out there inject there pork butts with a sauce or marinade before cooking? I saw this done this morning on Food TV and was thinking of trying it. I don't need it to make the pork butt moister, but was wondering about flavoring possibilities. I have a pretty liquid BBQ sauce that I was thinking of using.[p]What about spatchcocked chicken? Once again only for flavor not for juice.[p]Thanks in advance,

JM3,[p]I injected my last one with Wishbone Italian Dressing. It was great!

JM3,I have injected pork butts and brisket with Cajun Power Garlic Sauce for flavor. We like garlic !!

yes i inject, consider it a brine.

GrillMeister, interesting...did you strain the "solids" out? I would think those are what gives that dressing it's taste. Or maybe you have a much larger injector needle than I do.

RRP,[p]I'll use a larger needle next time. I had a heck of a time with clogging the needle. It did work though. I'm going to get a real injector with a big needle to add to the list of egg toys.

Just did this with 2 butts today, as a matter of fact. Injected with Clarks Sauce (locally made vinegar based sauce). Very pleased with the results.

I gotcha...you'll get one of those "big bore" livestock needles, huh? The one I saw I bet you could inject a small ABT down that tube!
