3Tier Rack, new version: ambivalent

Hello there,

I just received my brand new 3Tier rack. I received the "new" version of the rack... and I am disappointed.

There has been one improvement on this new version: you no longer need the 2 inches fire ring for Large to fit it into you egg.

However, there is a huge drawback (unless you guys convince me otherwise): instead of being around, the support is in the CENTER of the rack... Which means, I cannot cook two (or three) pizzas at the same time, or put more than one fish board on the egg unless I cut them in half or in thirds... Also, the rack is in stainless instead for the standard enamel coated stuff. Check it out:




What's your take on this, my dear «têtes d'oeuf»? I haven't used it yet. Should I return it, ask for the 2in fire ring and the old version?

Edit: forgot to add a plus point: the two top racks can spin. For what it's worth

My take is that you ought to order the Adjustable Rig from tjv if he ships to Canada.

That is the adjustable rig made by the Grill Guys (BGE Canada) Tjv's rig is a lot more friendly. Don't think I would do two pizzas at the same time anyway. BTW are you in QC or ON?

I saw that at the mothership on Thursday when I was in there and the more I looked at it, the less I liked it. I agree with Cory...get the adjustable rig from Tom!

It would be nice, but I don't see how you COULD do two or three pizzas at the same time. Can't see how the top of the bottom one (or the bottom of the top one) would cook properly. But maybe that's just me. :S

:laugh: Well. I think you could put one on top, and at middle time, you switch them...

I really thought the Egg was more like a convection oven... have I been mislead?
