Jakes been on me to take him to the Fest. Normally he has to stay behind on our trips as just not practacal to take him on the Harley! :) Well we are taking the cage to OK so he wants to go. Called La Queta and they said no problem. Jake lived in the Sigma PI Frat house in collage with me 20 years ago and was a real party animal. We have both add a few years to our resume but he still thinks he's up to it. What do ya'll thank. Should I give OK City the bird?!!

Has good olde "Jake" ever been on a road trip before?

Love to seem him there but it would possibly be a tad
    traumatic for him?

Well thats the only thought. Jakes has seen and been more places than most people. You can emagin what he went threw in collage. Used to ride on the head rest in my car or on my shoulder up town. He has been moved to differant house several times and goes to my forlks when on long runs. That may be the only reason I don't bring him is his age. Still he always actually screams to go with us and he really is well adjusted. Would not have him long at the Fest its self. Course he is free flight so his cage would be locked while there and most of his time would be in the motel room. Ony one know if the rooms open to an interiar hallway or to the outside at the motel?

Rooms open to the inside hallway. I was on the 3rd floor last year but I assume they are all that way.

I agree with Steven....I can just see it now...spatchcocked Jake. Oh my. Now, you're gonna have Randy prepping our African grey to get ready to travel.
looking forward to meeting the guy....does he shy with strangers? Ours won't talk if he doesn't know you.

Deane, I'm so glad you're going to bring Jake. I was just talking to Doug and I said "I wish we could meet the infamous Jake". We're bird lovers we had a yellow naped amazon, a moluccan cocatoo, a blue eyed triton cockatoo and a cockatiel for almost 20 yrs. We're bird free right now and miss all of them. We never clipped the wings of any of our birs either. I hope the weather is good and he can come to the fest. :)
Safe travels to you and Doreen!!
4 more days!!!! :woohoo:  :)

Steve, Jake will be safe and sound. We've got a lineup of food for the after party like you've never seen. Nobody is going to be hungry.....or thirsty. :woohoo:
Wish you could be there to help us eat and drink it all. :)

He don't care Kim. He has been around so many things he just takes it in stride. Jake does not talk. Just screams and "clucks". Only screams when he hears the Harley or the alarm clock as he knows Im going to let him out after he settles down. Never reward him for screaming so it has never been a problem unlike a lot of Nandays.

Ann the weather will have a lot to do about him being at the actual Fest. Wind, cloudy and in 60's and he'll stay in the room. Every one remember that Jake is only about the size of a pigeon and not as "impressive" as the larger birds in real life. He's just been treated like our child which he is so many years that he "understand" things and how to respond such as house broke. Thar said he will just have his small cage for the trip and may or may not understand to go back to it. Would only take a couple days to train him to do it reliable but will just have to see if he makes the assosiation between his stand up cage and his travel pen.

JL! Hey, my son just joined Sigma Pi over the weekend after surviving "Hell Week". From the sounds of things, Jake wouldn't have been safe there last week. My son thinks the Egghead Forum is weird. I can't wait to tell him one of his "brothers" is one of the forum celebrities!
