After last weekends comp cook with Misippi Egger, thought I'd find some comfort food to relax too...the only pressure was how fast I could finish and enjoy
Trimmed and cut a tenderloin

Started rosemary salted potatoes

Threw on some peppers

Portobellos

Asparagus

Jack temp up and go to the bottom rack

Now for the filets

Finish with some shrimp

Keep an eye on Clark he has been known to be a VBI!!!

Very nice cooking!
I use a second fire ring, like you, on all my eggs for a raised grid. Now I don't feel like I'm the only one. -
thanks
had a few neighbors invite themselves over :laugh:Kent Madison MS -

It is too easy to do it that way... I'm a lazy egger...
load the lump, squirt the alcohol (thank Wiley Coyote!), put the lower grid in, drop two rings, one match, and 15 minutes later - 500 degrees... like magicKent Madison MS -

Nice cook Kent!
Thanks for posting. Everything looks great! Nice ideas for new options on set-ups. (and thanks for showing the asparagus as a direct cook.....no other way in my opinion...grilled asparagus rocks!)

Is that extra fire ring (on top) the same size as the one below?
-
LC
Kind words... thanks
This set up lets me cook inches from the coals for the steaks and above the felt line for the other items... only have to install or remove top grate... not that I'm smart, more like I'm lazy.Kent Madison MS -
yes, same as the one below it... just stacked... fire grate from an old weber between the fire box and first fire ring... see there still are things for the weber to to :woohoo: :woohoo:Kent Madison MS

Looks great Kent. My sister gave me a couple of fire wires for my bday. Sounds like they work well, can't wait to give them a try.
