There is usually one on Labor Day weekend in downtown Milwaukee too. Or there has been the last 3-4 years.
-
Del and I went to the one downtown last year and it was very small. I think there were 25 teams.
I just like the Big Pig Jig's location, how it's laid out, the entertainment. Just a better environment. It's out in the suburbs not in the hustle bustle of downtown.
So, are you thinking of coming out and winning our State championship?????We'd love to have the Buster Dog BBQ team come to WI!
-
I will have to win a couple contest to get that on the schedule or find a local sponsor out there. I am almost tapped out after paying for 10 plus contest and the American Royal and hopefully the Jack and not even left the house yet.
But, knock on wood, we do very well when we compete in a state for the first time. -
Thanks Anne for the news! Will try to make it down for that event.
Working on a very special mini table this weekend, the quarter sawn white oak is beautiful.... -
What is next, running water?

Mike -
Shouldn't you be concentrating on IEC in OKC?
When are you pulling in?
Mike -
You do some AMAZING work with wood Clay. Eveything I've seen is absolutely beautiful. I hope you can make it down for the competition. Do you compete??
-
Do you use eggs when you compete?
-
Ok Miss Anne, you and Del own multiple Eggs, and are trained by a World Champion. Enter the comp. No excuses..........
-
I agree.
Mike -
That is a great couple of points! Cmon guys you can do it!This is the greatest signature EVAR!
-
Only for chicken.
-
meeting Casey about 1030 at his place on Friday. So I guess around 5-6pm.
I'm going to stream video of the iron egg chef if I get 3g coverage. -
You should be at the one in Scottsdale tomorrow. -RP
-
Del and I will never compete. Neither of us have the desire to do that. We take classes because we love to cook and entertain. Cmpeteing is not in our blood, especially after the American Royal. We couldn't believe what those teams have to go through in a competion. The environment at competitions is electric and I do love going as a spectator or even helping out on a team. But that's as far as it goes.
-
You using the FEC for everything else?
Mike -
Dr. Z I think you'd do great in a competition!! Come on up!!! We'll cheer you on!!
-
Talk into IEC in OKC. Snoop is looking for one more.
Mike -
I would love to be there Randy but we are just burned out from traveling. It's been non-stop since Jan. We've only been home at total of 20 days since Jan. 1st. and the next 4 mos. are even crazier. Some guy from Tuscon got me hooked on these eggfests and my life hasn't been the same since.
Good luck with Smitty. I thought the comp starts today?? -
Darry is setting up today but I'm not going up until tomorrow morning, see ya next week. -RP
-
I am. It's not that I don't like the eggs. But one FEC and one large egg provide a lot more versatility for me at a contest. Especially if I want to cook more meats for caterings, etc. I have no problems doing 2 12lb+ packers and 4 butts on the FEC and still have room for ribs. I do keep a guru with me so I can put extra on the egg over night if I choose to.
-
But your good at leaving things that love you.
And having no regrets. -
You don't have to compete. Just enter, bring the eggs, cook some bbq, and turn in a box. What is the worst that could happen.
-
Root canal ribs. BUT IT IS BARK. LOL Inside joke Ron.
Mike -
Ron, you can be a little pain in the butt sometimes.
-
What's this never stuff? You are in the IEC next week. -RP
-
Reason I was asking was because there's 2 BGE dealers in the area that might possibly help sponsor. With the amount of comps you're doing I'm surprised BGE isn't sponsoring you at some capacity.
-
I was going to get an FEC but ended up wih a Southern Pride. Do you go a lot of catering.
Mike -
Mike, that is probably better for you anyway unless you went to an FEC 500 or 750. Most restaurants have an Ole Hickory or Southern Pride.
On the catering, I have 3 for May and am provding a little league concession stand with pork this month to see how it goes.
I have a second FEC at home for that. -
well, that would be nice. I have talked to BGE and the distributor here and neither seemed interested.
