Have pictures, but cant figure out how to post...help? Outside temp was 30, but egg had no trouble maintaining 400 with just a large hand full of charcoal. Im Loving This!!
Congrats and welcome! The egg doesn't care how cold it is - YOU might, but it doesn't.
I would suggest getting into the habit of filling the firebox with lump. When you shut it down after the cook, you will be able to reuse all that didn't burn and you won't run the risk of running out of lump in the middle of a cook.
As for pics, you first need to upload them to an image hosting service (photobucket, flickr, etc). Let us know which you are using and someone can help you post them here.I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Welcome!!!
You are in trouble now, as it only becomes "CULT" from here forward! -

Dan, one other thing...click HELP at the top of the page here, then Forum FAQs. There's a brief entry for posting pics. Basically, upload the pics somewhere and copy the image address (unfortunately, one at a time). Then, in your forum post, click Img, paste the image address, then click Img again (no spaces).

Congrats!! I live in Anchorage, I havent purchased an egg yet. A large is running close to 900 bucks. Do you mind telling me what they are going for up in Fairbanks?
I was thinking the Papa Murphy pizzas would be a good on an egg. Cheap and easy. Anyway, enjoy your egg and the warmer weather headed our way. -
See pics, Yeah its a spendy unit, but we cook out all year. Similar pricing ere, wait for a home show, outdoor show, maybe get a better deal. They didnot charge me any shipping! rare for Fairbanks. Good Luck!! Dan.
