Got home late, crappy weather, wanted to use the new sandwich press again. Fired up the mini - it's still working but noticing now chips coming out of the cracks in the front; :( oh well, I'll try to keep it going until I can get my small. The reubens were really really good; :P will definately do them again.

Julia,
It looks great! What did you get? Do you know what it weighs?

Hi Julia. I'm glad the reubens were good.
I didn't hear what happened - did you glue the mini back together?

That's too bad about the mini Julia. The reubens sounds delicious, one of my favorites. I need to get one of those sandwich presses. Where did you get yours?
-
YUM!I LOVE Dem Reubens!!!
-
Steven, I don't know how much it weighs but it is a lodge piece, $22 bucks I think.
-
Faith, yep glued it back together with some 1500 degree furnace cement. It's not pretty but for the moment it's doing the job.
-
Hi Anne! Sounds like you've been doing some traveling! I got the press (lodge) at a local kitchen store; does the trick!
-
Julia,
Can you get Montreal smoked meat when you cross the border? Really good substitute for pastrami or corned beef.

The Reuben looks great. I always think of the guy named Reuben on the Partridge Family, or was he Rueben...
The Lodge rectangular press weighs 3lbs, and the round one 5lbs. -
Molly, thanks - did you see the chips in this pic? Problem is there are just so many cracks that go the whole way through - the cement is holding, but I'm guessing it's just a matter of time. That mini-woo may hit the market yet!
-
Where did you get the press?
-
Hye Julia,
