Hey guys,[p]I am building a table for my large egg and was wondering if the dimensions from the egg website are accurate if you have a spring
assisted band. I think it is showing the distance from the bottom shelf to the top of the top shelf to be 13". Will this be the correct dimension even if I have the spring assisted band.
Thanks,

Steel Big Boy, I measured my large and I found that you cannot exceed 15 1/2" from the shelf where the egg sits to the top of the table. Remember however that you do NOT want to set the egg directly on a wood shelf so the stone will take up at least 1" of that distance. I would say that if you had 16 1/2" or less you should be OK. The spring assist band does take up 1" more than the old locking hinge did.

  • Wise One,
Thank you for the info. I just hated to get the table put together and find out it was wrong height.[p]Thanks Again!

Bill,[p]Should the hole cutout diameters change with the new spring hinges, since the Egg outside diameter changes vertically from top to bottom? [p]Thanks,[p]TRex

TRex, it should but when I raised my medium to take care of the new hinge, it wasn't enough to get me concerned. I went from a 1/4" gap to about a 1/2" gap all around.
