What of the "ramp mode"
Ray

I read about run away Eggs and Pitminders. Does the "ramp mode" only come on the Guru or is the "ramp mode" that risky. Does it work?

Ray,
Ramp mode as described to me by the makers of the "Guru" will insure you never overcook your food. You set a pit temp and a meat temp and once the meat temp starts nearing its set temp, the guru will start lowering the pit temp so that your meat will never exceed your meat setpoint. HTH..[p]Wess

Ray, the "ramp mode" is a feature on the BBQ Guru's Competitor model and is not found on the Pitminder. The Competitor (commonly referred to as just the "Guru") monitors meat temp, as well as pit temp and synchronizes the two for ramp mode.
