Outback Steak Not Up To Par

Amen...regifting is in vogue.

Eggin' a steak (or whatever) certainly sets a higher expectaton bar. I find myself eating more sandwiches and salads when eating out. -
I played golf with a guy a few weeks ago that said he waited 1.5 hrs to eat there. Go figure...
I'm sure happy with my eggs! -
Given some of the suggestions below I might just order something they can't mess up, like raw steak to go. LOL

I have had the same experience even as a rookie egger. With a $5.00 12oz choice grade steak from Sam's Club and my egg I can now best most mid-grade "steakhouses". A high end steakhouse like Del Frisco's in the DFW area I can keep up with, but I have to pay $28 just for the steak at the restaurant."Bacon tastes gooood, pork chops taste gooood." - Vincent Vega, Pulp Fiction
Small and Large BGE in Oklahoma City. -
Classic example of "Crime and Punishment" only the 'crime' was a less than courtly meal and the punishment was having to eat it.
Poor judgement, the stuff of most crimes, by standing in line for such a long time indirectly added to the punishment.
Justice was served, perhaps twice.

Leroy,
When we hafta use up gift cards like that, I always drink it up and eat appetizers. Outback has a pretty good coconut shrimp appetizer and a pretty good onion soup. Just a thot. Also, to avoid long waits at Outback go directly to the bar...they have booths there and are free game to sit in without a wait. Of course if you go at 6 or 7 on a Fri or Sat night your gonna have a long wait.
Wheeeee....my 500th post, I now qualify for the drawings!!! -
LeRoy, couldn't agree more. Fiancee took me out for a birthday dinner to one of the nicest restaurants in Palm Springs last week. Neither of us ordered a steak because we knew it couldn't be any better than one off the egg. We ordered things we don't usually get, seared duck breast for me and liver & onions for him. Both were great and we weren't disappointed.

I like that idea. Thanks.
Congrats on your 500th post. So now you want 'drawings' huh? Ok....

By planning ahead you turned what could have been a less-than-satisfactory experience into a nice evening. Good thinking.

Mi amigo Leroy....I know the feeling!!!!!! :(

And that's just the first day's disappointment. By the second day I had to make use of all of my internal processing equipment in order to dispose of the bovine's remains.
Now it's the county's problem.

That little railroad - Manufacturer's RR - still exists, though I don't believe it still traverses the Mississippi. Our company still does a fair amount of business with A-B, and I've done a couple of projects involving the unloading of that railroad's cars.
The restaurant you're thinking of is The Bevo Mill. My mom grew up a few blocks from it, down Morganford Road. I've eaten there a couple of times, as a kid, but it's fallen on hard times since the neighbothood lost its largely-German heritage. It's been opened and closed a few times, and it's currently open and trying to make a go again as an upscale events place. Thanks for the reminder...I might have to go try them out again.
