Loss of a family member in more ways than one.

We lost another good man as well as a couple of good nurses. Doug Phillips was my cousin's husband. He was a great husband, and father and really impacted several people in our family and community.
He retired from the Memphis police dept where he flew a helicopter for them and began flying for Hospital wing. He was family to me in more ways than one. All my fire, ems, and police brothers and sisters are close family.
He died doing what he loved. He will be missed.

JoJo, I live in Dyersburg and one of the nurses was from here. I didn't know her personally but know several people that did. I know the pilots Daughter in Law (Erin)and family very well, the DIL is from here also and is the same age as one of my sons. A really great tragedy!! Our thoughts and prayers are with all of them and the Families. Mike

Thanks Mike, we are sending an ambulance to Dyersburg and Jackson for the two funerals tomorrow. They are getting a EMS line of duty funeral. Doug will have one Tuesday here in Bartlett.

Everyone is very proud of them. His kids have been quoted as saying he was their hero. I was a great man.

I'm very sorry to hear this. I am one who very much appreciates those who risk their lives in jobs which help so many. I'll say prayers for all these families. I know your own family will miss your cousin's husband very much.
