don't know how much a nest is but a large plate setter in KS is $60.00 plus tax. Hope that helps.

thanks but how much is the actual egg ?
any guesses ? -
I paid $56.00 US for a P/S about a month ago.Local dealer.CASH!
BTW,it was my 3rd one.I want an AR but everytime I break my platesetter I need to do a lo-n-slo RIGHT then and do not have time to wait.I coulda bought the AR and all the bells and whistles and gadgets that go with for what I've spent on platesetters!!!

Dude,
I am not sure of the current pricing but you would be much cheaper in the US. Problem is that you will have no warranty. Best bet would to buy a demo at a CDN eggfest. Maybe the TO one if you are close.

kk thanks for the tip

Really? If he bought from a legit dealer in the US, the warranty would be void in Canada?
As for pricing, I paid $819 plus tax for my large; with platesetter, nest, cast iron grid, baking stone, ash tool, 2 bags of lump and a bag of hickory chunks. As I recall, it would have been about $100 less without the nest. Some have done better, some worse.I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

thank you ! thats several hundred cheaper than i was quoted up here in the frgged north (lol) 6 hundred to be honest
as for the warranty
not to be a smart ass but if this thing is all its craked (no punn intended ) up to be why do i need a warranty ? -

kk thanks... didnt realize that it is a lifetime warranty
-
Fritters,
Larges range from 700-780 for just the egg. Nests are 75-100 and ps 40-60
If you have trucks passing through here, let me know. -
Lots of things are cheaper in the US than in Canada.
Gasoline, Beer etc. Heck even Skidoo's are cheaper, and they're made up here.
As others have said, the risk you run by buying a BGE in the US is no warrarnty when you bring it north. You break it. You own it. You lose everything.
If you can put a value to that risk and add it to the US price, I think you'll find the Canadian price is cheaper.
(If you are in the Hamilton, ON area, the Spec auction is currently on. There is a XL being offered. You can bid on it. Maybe you can save some $ there and get warranty.) -
How about getting an adjustable rig w/stone and spider instead?
