For those of you who have the AR, Did you get the combo with the oval grid or the round grid? (I'm leaning towards the oval since I already have the CI grid and the original porcelain grid)

Who uses any part of the Rig Slide Guide combo? Slide guides or rig extender? Would you recommend them?

Doing indirect with the spider, do you use the 13" or 16" stone?

Thanks!

Mine just arrived yesterday and I got the one with the oval grid. The round one that comes with the BGE will fit on top of the rig, and later I can add the rig extender and the slide guides, and I'll already have the oval grid to go along with it.

I need to add the 13" CI grid for those high temp sears on the spider.

I have all of the above for my AR, and the things you can do with all of this is endless! I added the slide guide/ovals a few months ago, and they are really handy for the type of smoking I typically do. I use the 13" stone for my indirect and it has been perfect. Get it all now and save yourself some shipping cause your gonna end up with it anyway!

Thanks! I think I will go with the oval grids. I'm really surprised at how much the AR is supported on here and only two people responded on what their setup was.

i think pretty much only the new guys here have the oval sliding grids, most here dont have experience with that particular setup. anyways all his products are well made and well thought out. tom's number is on his site so that you can call him and he will sort out whats best for you.
