Hey all,

looking to buy an ET-73, and am noticing that there are multiple images for this thermometer. some say maverick, some say redi chek.

Does anyone know what the difference is, if any?

and, can anyone give a reputable site to buy from?

thanks
Brent

  • Bought my ET-73 from Amazon. Not sure what difference there is with the Redi-Check. Mine is branded Maverick.

Mine says redichek, I purchased from Amazon, now problems had it in 4 days.

Used it for the first time this weekend and set the egg with 2 butts on it, went to sleep at 10:30, beeped at me at 6 am butts at 192. Best smoking experience I have ever had. Old smoker I had i would hav eto stay up all night.

    Thanks, much appreciated. ordering today.

Have a different remote, pretty terrible. turns itself off regularly during cooks. annoying as hell given that I live in an apt building and have to go down three stories to check.

that said, pulled my first good pork butt off the egg last night...

I think they're one and the same. Got a Redi Check from the local Bed Bath and Beyond. After I think about 5 years the main unit and remote unit were still good but the probe and/or probe wire went bad and had to get another... and what I found that looked like the right thing was Maverick brand. So I think they're the same but marketed under different brand names. Everything's working superbly again with the new probe .....
