So whaddya do with your spare time?

Time was, with other equipment, I spent an inordinate amount of time adjusting temp due to weather conditions. Those metal thingies seemed to react to just about anything that occurred. Wind? Adjust. Rain? Adjust. Shadow falls on your black metal thingie? Adjust. Jupiter not aligned with Mars? Adjust...[p]I got this egg and have embarked upon my first low and slow with it. I know I'm preaching to the choir but I can't help it. Being the "trust but verify" person that I am, I decided to do a day cook so I could...well...adjust the doggone thing if required. Got it settled at about 220 and it has remained rock solid, I mean ROCK SOLID (no more than a couple of degrees) for the last six+ hours. If the meat probe wasn't showing an increase I'd think the dome thermo was broken/stuck.[p]Has it rained during the cook time? Yes. Has the wind changed during that time? Yes. Has the sun moved and created shadows during that time? Yes. Is Jupiter aligned with Mars? Haven't a clue, but I ain't worried about nuttin'.[p]So what DO you do with the spare time?[p]Grant me the strength to avoid peeking...

Jeff Nichols,[p]What I SHOULD be doing is piling that bunch of rock in my driveway into the wheelbarrow and finishing the front lawn stuff that needs the rocks. What I actually DO with most of my "spare" time is sew. Yes, yes...ol' MollyShark has this domestic streak. Hey, I was a home ec major in high school..whaddya want! In fact, I just splurged on enough new sewing stuff that...well...I coulda easily bought a small Hyundai instead. But think of all the stuff I'll be able to embroider with a green egg on it now![p]Enjoy it all.[p]mShark
