I make a quicky egg transporter last night. 2 nice 24 x 24 pieces of 3/4" oak from Lowes and a couple of 2 x 4 s and a box of screws was less then $25. However, since I did not have a router or a jig saw, I used my circular saw to cut a big slot in the top piece. I think the slot with some kind of removeable keeper will work better then the hole because you can side load the transporter. Who wants to lift 100# more then a few inches. [p]I also thought of some other uses of this fantastic transporter.
1. It makes a great Egg stand when turned over.(raise the egg up higher for eggonomics - less bending and stooping)
2. Could be a good wind screen (if your not using it as a portable egg stand).[p]All in all this is a great tool. I just threw mine together yesterday, I plan on putting some more effort into it after this weekends cookoff.[p]Thanks again.

Smoked Signals,[p]Great! Post a pic when you get a chance. I agree about the removable keeper. It's a bear to load and unload, but once it's in, she stays put.[p]Good luck on the competition. I'm off at lunch to load up the eggs and head down the road myself.[p]Cheers,[p]Ed
