I said to my wife, 'Where do you want to go for our anniversary?' She said, 'I want to go somewhere I've never been before.' I said, 'Try the kitchen.'

I had some last night at a restaurant. They put salt on them, I think I'd rather have cinnamon sugar instead.

I slice them into 1/2" to 3/4" fries and coat with EVOO, salt, pepper and a little Cumin and roast at 350-400 on a cookie sheet till tender and if I may say so myself they are eggcellent. :)

agreed, although we use Tastefully Simple Garlic Garlic instead of cumin. Put the fries, oil and spices in a mixing bowl, swirl around and lay out on cookie sheet. you may have to turn them over depending on your cookie sheet. those little devils can stick sometimes!

A variation is to use DP Pineapple Head - tried it and liked it.

I need to try those, too. Restrauant around the corner from work mixes sweet potato and regular tater and fries together. Pretty good stuff.

course sea salt on them will help as well.
  • I've cooked'em a couple ways. Frying and baking.

To me I like frying them better, I cook two Sw. Taters at a time chopped like normal frys and surprisingly it doesn't absorb very much of oil... I use a fry daddy. I like to cook them until they get a bit golden brown.. I add a touch of salt, but try to use as little as I can.

I've also baked them. Slice thin into circles.. I use a light spraying of EVOO and a touch of Kosher salt.. I put them on parchment paper lined cookie sheet and cook at ~400 or so until slightly crispy. time depends on how thick you cut them (usually 15-20min). I've added spices too - garlic powder/fresh pepper and also cayene pepper... depends on what you like.
