Some brave soul came out the other day and admitted to making quiches. Well, I've done it for years myself, but only admitted it to my wife.

Tonight was the first time I did it on the Egg. Excellent !!!!!

I only do one quiche .... shrimp, bacon, jalapeño, and onion quiche.

Good on ya, Gary! I love quiche! Really need to have it more often.

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

That looks awesome. Can you post how you made it? Also can it be made in a CI pan instead of a glass pie pan?

Sure Aaron. It's easy. And, I'm sure you can make it in a CI pan ... probably better.

I admit I precooked the pie shell in the oven, but I cooked the remainder on the Egg.

1 9 inch Pie Shell, unbaked
    2 Eggs
    1.5 cups Half & Half
    1 Dash Cayenne pepper
    ¼ cup Swiss cheese, grated
    ½ cup Pizza cheese, shredded
    1 tablespoon Flour
    ½ pound Shrimp
    6 strips Bacon , cooked
    ½ Onion , finely chopped
    1-1.5 Jalapenos, pickled & chopped

Bake pie shell at 450 for 10 minutes.

Beat together eggs, half & half, salt, and red pepper.

Saute chopped onion in bacon grease and let drain.

Combine all ingrediences, and pour into pie shell.

Bake, uncovered, at 325 for 45 minutes, or until tip of knife inserted 1 inch from center comes out clean.

  • It was me that posted that! I was wondering how much grief I was going to take over that. Real men may eat quiche and they also cook it if their real women want them to.

OK Can't say I've ever had kuiche BUT yours kind of blows my conseption of it out of the water! I always thought of it as a bland egg pie but anything with bacon and shrimp HAS to be good! :woohoo: I saved this to favorite!

    Mmmm,

Don't tell anyone, this became our Sunday with the kids tradition. In the oven prior to discovering the Green Egg. Various versions.

    Take a try at;

    Crab meat
    White cheddar cheese
    Green onions

Serve with grits and a bit of white cheddar in there too.
