    Chad ,
Follow the link below on TREX's steak method. Be sure to also look at the link about Flaskback. Very important if you have not read this yet!!!! There is a ton of great info on the site...so take a look around after you have your steaks.[p]Steve-B

  • Chad , I will tell you what works for me. I start with Dizzy Pig Cowlick rub. If I ain't got none, I don't cook till I get some. It's that good.[p]I take a ¾-1" rib eye and put a heavy shaking of Cowlick. And I mean heavy. It's kinda like putting the amount on that you think is right, and then putting on some more! Cover the steak and let it set at room temp for about 1 hour before cooking.[p]Heat the egg to 600 degrees. Leave top and bottom vents wide open. Put steaks on for 2 minutes, flip them over and leave for another 2 minutes. Then close both vents and cook for another 2 minutes on each side. Total cooking time: 8 minutes start to finish. Have everything else completely ready before putting the steaks on the egg. 8 minutes go by fast.[p]The method above will give you a medium cooked steak. Moist and tender, a little pink. You can adjust the cooking time to your preference. The first time I tried this recipe I went 3-3-3-3 and the steaks were WAY too done for us![p]DON'T FORGET THE COWLICK. It really makes the steaks special.[p]Good luck, ENJOY
