Morning All:
Recently Little Chef did some rice cakes that looked delish, so I decided to try them tonight. Michelle this is a WINNER! I used the jasmine rice also, but didn't have any sesame seeds though.
Here are the rice cakes after the flip...

With it being Friday, I wanted to do something different as a fish dish, so I made some Salmon cakes using fresh salmon (about 1.2 pounds). I removed the skin and diced the salmon. I mixed the salmon with panko bread crumbs, culantro, Raging River, a small amount of Karo Syrup with brown sugar (found it in the cabinet and decided it might work) and an egg for the binder. Formed this mess into four cakes...

and a closeup of one of them...

These went on a hot griddle, after the first flip...

and the plated meal...

a closeup of the finished salmon cake...

The salmon cakes are a "do over" too! The only bad part was that we were both piggys and ate everything...one salmon & one rice cake would have been a more appropriate serving, but the more I ate, the more I wanted.

I'm copyin that! How did the Maple syrup work?Would you use Maple sugar next time?
-
Morning Hoss:
It wasn't Maple syrup...it was Karo Corn Syrup with Brown Sugar. I only added maybe a couple tablespoons and since I haven't had it without, then I'm not sure of the difference :laugh:Have a GREAT day!
