Hi everyone, long time lurker (~2 years), finally got a large. My wife surprised me on my 40 birthday. I was very eggcited! I feel like I know a bunch of you... This is the first forum I've ever posted to, so still getting used to it. My wife has actually talked about going to the Texas Eggfest, so i need to check on tickets and see if this will happen. I think it would be a blast.

Probably the best gift you will ever recieve in your life. You will enjoy it very much. Not just the food but the family that tends to gather around it in the summer. Enjoy and welcome!
-
You have one heck of a wife. Usually the wife questions why one needs and EGG. They don't UNDERSTAND.
Welcome to the cult. Enjoy your first cook. -
SmokinInCypress,
Welcome! Seriously great eggers in the Lone Star State.
You will learn a tremendous amount from them.

Welcome to the family Robert. 2 years of lurking? I lasted 2 weeks before I got my first egg.

Hope to see you at the TX fest. -
Robert I can't remember 40 :(
Welcome to the cult and hope to see you at the TexasFest in May.Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Just given another Mini to add to the herd. -
Welcome, a small Texas contingent goes to OKC. Way to much fun.

You really are new that is clear. You called this a Club. IT IS A CULT!!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Welcome. -
If you've been reading the Forum for awhile then you know we love to see new Eggheads come along, especially those who have wives who support their new hobby.
I'm just taking a shot in the dark but your 'handle' suggests that you live in Cypress, Texas. If so, you are not far from the Chicken Ranch, and even closer to His Enemance Chubby, and his wife Chubby's Chick. They too live in Cypress.
I would say that's enough for a party, but there are a few more around the area and we're all here to help you enjoy your new Egg.
By all means, come to the Texas Eggfest. It's a lot of fun but more important, you get to meet a bunch of your fellow Eggheads and learn a lot in just a few hours about cooking on the Egg. Hope to see you there.

I'm eggcited for you too! More so to see a Virgin Egg ( or almost virgin) on the inside! Been a while since I've seen that color!
Post more pics of the inside, then print one and write the date on it! See how long it takes you to carbon up that dude! I'd give it two weeks!
Welcome to the group and Cheers! You're really gonna enjoy the Egg! I do!!

Now, how nice is that??? I can't read all the stickers you got there on the egg, but that was a wonderful gift you received.
I highly reccomend going to a fest or 2, ASAP. You can't even believe how fun it is to be around others that love egging as much as you do.
Welcome to the forum and take lots of pics and post often.
Forgot to say HAPPY 40th!
FaithHappily egging on my original large BGE since 1996... now the owner of 5 eggs. Call me crazy, everyone else does!
3 Large, 1 Small, 1 well-used Mini -
Thanks everyone. Really seems like a great group of people here.
2 years, I know... My wife thought it was too much, already have a gas, etc... I always kidded my friends (not eggers), that i wanted one and i would tell them - forget the large vs. XL decision, i need an invisible model! :P
GTIPROD, it was pretty cool, surprise party and all... I actually found that she printed some literature on the printer a few weeks before (i told here about that), but i still wasn’t sure and the party was about 2 weeks before my actual bday. GREAT SURPRISE!
Spring Chicken, yes Cypress, TX... I’ve seen many posts from you. I guess Spring, TX... Anyway, I hope to make it to the fest. I would say a good chance.

Welcome Robert !!! Great to see another Houston area egger. We've got Eggheads from Houston, Katy, Spring, Friendswood, Cypress, League City, etc. etc. We could probably have a mini-Eggfest right here.
Hope to see you at the Texas Eggfest.__________________________________________Dripping Springs, Texas.Just west of Austintatious -
Happy B-day and welcome
like the others have said GO TO THE FEST if you can at all!! the best part is all your friends and co workers are going to think you have joined a cult and will get sick real fast of hearing about the Egg LOL 'corse when you have them to dinner they will get it. but then you will find your self feeding them all the time till they get their own egg. But at the Fest every one is as eggcited as you are and "get it" so is their and anniversary coming up to get her your second egg?? LOL they tend to multiply!! -
Robert, Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new egg. As you know this forum is the best place to learn how to use your BGE and get recipes. Going to fests is a wonderful thing because you get to meet other eggheads and sample their cooks. Happy Birthday and let the egging begin. Tim

WELCOME!!! and Happy Bday! I see by the second pic that you have the correct right hand balance. Definately get to a fest! That's where you really get to meet the folks and see all the different options for cooking. OKC fest is coming up too.
