XL Nest...make it stronger?

I have a question for those nest owners out there. Has anyone reinforced it? We have to move the egg a bunch for comps and the casters seem flimsy and we tend to warp it a bit. Maybe weld some cross braces? Any thoughts or pics?

BobbyQ at BGE retail store made some really nice ones for all of his XL eggs.

The XL Nest is so under built you are almost better starting from scratch. It's great to hold the Egg or move across the flat smooth patio but that's about all.
I did a mod on an old, small heavy duty utility cart. So far it has worked great. Biggest expense was a set of quality wheels.
    Thank you,

  • Big Green Egg recently came out with a reinforced handle - they call it the Nest Handler.

It provides cross support stability (to prevent nest scissoring) and a pulling handle that lowers the center of gravity (to reduce the chance of tip over). The part number is NHXL1 for the XL.

We installed them on our floor models - they're great!
