Baked potatoe ?
I am going to cook another perfect steak tonight. Would like to cook the baked potatoes on the egg instead of in the microzapper since I have some extra time.[p]How long and what temp is good for large potatoes? Also how long? Do I wrap them in foil or not? [p]Thanks for your help, I am the

Hugh Jass,
Well, my father would have told you that wrapping potatoes in foil produced steamed potatoes, not baked potatoes. I tend to agree. I rub them with oil, maybe sprinkle on some kosher salt and pepper, then I like to do them about 1-1.5 hours (depending on size) at 400 degrees, giving them a turn or two during the cook. I'd do them indirect if you are going to do them by themselves in the center of the grid, but direct if you are only doing a couple and put them at the front of the egg, away from the worst of the direct heat that is at the back.[p]TNW

Hugh Jass,
Poke a few holes in the suckers. Wrap with salt, pepper and butter.
Indirect is best if you have the time. When they are done, open and split in half adding a little more butter and little rub that you like.[p]CWM

Hugh Jass, I prefer to do mine without poking holes and at 400 for at least 1 hour for a fist size potatoe.

Hugh Jass, slice the tuber with a sharp knife lengthwise, do not cut it apart, only cut it slightly, removing a sliver of the potato. Now, insert into the removed sliver cavity, a slice of ONION, forcing it into the cavity. You can now observe, TOO much potato, not enugh ONION !!. Enlarge the cavity, add more onion, coat the tater with olive oil and kosher, coarse salt.... then wrap in foil loosly to allow the egg's smoke to permeate.... and let her rip....

Hugh Jass, I microwaved 5 fist sized potatoes for 5 minutes, coated with olive oil, kosher salt, wrapped in aluminum foil and put on the 300° egg for one hour. I took them off the egg, unwrapped them, cut the potatoes open, put in butter, real bacon chunks and cheese. The then set them unwrapped back on the egg for 5 minutes. [p]Heavenly potatoes![p]BeerMike[p]
I think it's time for another beer!
