Should I scrub it off?

Top gasket Nomex glued with super 77 came off part way so I pulled the sob all the way off and wouldn't you know it, a great fit with no leaks. The bottom gasket is on still tho. Do I need to scrub the whats left of the supper 77 on the top will it adhere to the bottom when it heats up? I'm going with the school of thinking no gaskets=no problems.
Thanks you all your help

To be on the safe side of things....
I would remove as much of the “stuff” as possible.
You know how Murphy’s Law works!!! When you least expect it, it will go terrible wromg  ! -
No gasket may be no problem, Glue reisdue when heated = Big Problem (IMO)

Mike,
All mine are base gasketed only. I like it.
I would take that glue off to keep it from glueing itself shut. -
Thanks guys, picked up a 12 pack tonight for scrubbing glue tomorrow.
