Curing / Seasoning Big Green Egg

Hello,
I am considering a BGE in the near future. I know you have to typically break-in a new bbq or smoker before you use it by lighting a few fires possibly with wood smoke a few times and oiling the metal surfaces.
I am wondering if it is recommend that you also season a BGE before you begin to use it? If it is, and since it is made of ceramic and not metal, I was also wondering what is the best practice for doing this?
Thanks for your help.

No not at all, at fests we use brand new Eggs and cook up some great food. -RP

I just started using my small and large, no need to season....cooking on it is seasoning and breaking it in at the same time

No seasoning neeeded. I would suggest a couple lower temp. cooks first. The idea behind the lower temp cooks is that it will allow the gasket to seal properly to the ceramic egg.
I dont know if it actually works but I have done that on both my eggs and my gaskets are still doing well. -
I seasoned mine with a nice rack of baby back ribs.

I have to agree w/ LoneStar, a nice rack of ribs or a pork butt provides the best possible seasoning, for you and the egg :P
Enjoy!
