Question about table for XL Egg

I just finished building a table for an XL Egg. I asked my local dealer what to put between the bottom of the Egg and the table. He told me that with the XL Egg you don't need anything. I was wondering if anyone here has had any experience with the XL Egg burning the table?

  • Your dealer is an idiot, I have seen tables scorched by an XL Egg. At the very least use the feet, I used that on my Egg and Table for awhile and had no problems. I used a stepping stone for awhile, but it cracked from the heat. Best option is a thin stone and the feet for airflow.
  • Thanks for the reply. That's what I was thinking. I bought four flat 4 by 8 stones. Spent to much time on the table and did not want to burn it. I was just curious if they knew what they were talking about.
  • I used a couple layers of paver stones as well as a 2X4 box. I wanted enough space to fit a cooler on the lower shelf. It's kinda obscured in this pic but you get the idea.
