I gots me a Wok for my Medium!! :woohoo: http://www.wokshop.com/ 14 incher, carbon steel with stainless handles works like a charm. A fellow Egger sent me an early proto type adjustable rig for a Small Egg several years ago he had and I have used it for my pizza stone and now my wok on my Medium Egg. Took the fire ring out and set the rig on top of the fire box with the wok set inside of the rig and about two inches of lump in the bottom of the Egg. Even with out the rig in a bind I could have rigged up some coat hangers to do this cook!
HOWEVER this may be my last cook. Spent the whole day trying to get money back from the goverment for help on the farm and bought a new two year old Brangus bull for the herd. Late when we got home and wife said she just wanted some chillie dogs she cooked on the BGE chemeka last night. Couldn't stand having the seasoned wok just sitting there so told her I was going to wok me some'en and went back in town for supplys. Regulars know I like flavor and wife can't take it and since I THOUGHT this was all for me I did it up right!
After it was done my wonderfull wife started getting her plate ready and I looked at her funny. She said "I thought this was for US!?" :pinch: :pinch: "Sorry most wonderfull, perfect wife but I thought this was for me and you were eat'en a hotdog" "No way you can eat this" Don't think I'll sleep to sound tonight!
OK the raws:

A little conola oil in bottom and two shakes seseseme seed oil. Bell pepper, 3 sereno peppers, can water cheshnuts, 3 big cloves garlic, one chunked thin sliced ginger root.

When tinder put them to side in bowel, added more oil, sesesseme seed oil and added bonless beef short rib meat, fresh green beans, 2 teaspoons sugar and a tablespoon crushed red pepper. Cooked beef till done then removed meat only then cooked beans till tinder in "juice". Set beef, juice and beens aside with peppers.

Fresh shrooms, green onions, in the oil mix till tinder.

Add all back to the wok with peanut sause and quickly heat back up.

Some peanut sause and pickled ginger on the side and just great! Only thing I would add is peanuts, which I had, to this dish! :pinch: The touch of sweet sugar and ginger with the hot peppers was just great. Quick, easy and good. Get read to get burned out on wok cooks!

Great job, as usual, JL !
Gotta get going with my new wok - one of these days..... -
Hey JL,
I really like wokin' on the egg. We must have the same friend on the forum as I also received a prototype "spider" for my medium, actually two, and they work like a charm.
Gotta luv your meal especially with the pickled ginger. Any idea how long ginger root will keep in the frig? It's got to be better than the powsered stuff I'm using.
Thanks and wok on as you won't bore me. -
Very Nice. I picked up a jar of peanut sauce last week and i need to break it out and use it. Thanks for the reminder. This is the greatest signature EVAR!

Looks mighty tasty.
Those serranos don't look like they've been seeded, so you had a pretty hot meal, it seems to me.__________________________________________Dripping Springs, Texas.Just west of Austintatious -
Looking good JL...I love wokkin' on the BGE....now try some wokkd popcorn with Dizzy Pig Pineapple Head...delicious... :woohoo:

Ginger root will keep a long time. I'm talking like close to a month is it was fresh and plump when you get it. Only thing is if you plan to actually eat it like I did as opposed to just using it for flavor like say a limon wedge be sure to slice it thin as its pretty fiberous root.

Uh, oh...you're headed down the wrong path....must keep wifey happy! You can wok her's first and then add some spice to yours since everything cooks so fast in a wok. We love ours. Did Jake approve your bull purchase?Judy

Got it, thanks for the advice. It's fresh ginger root inlieu of the powdered stuff.

JL,
Very nice plate! If you have access to the Thai bird chilis they work great in a wok. They pack some heat too.
