Smoked Salts

I smoked some salts today to use in future cooks. I did a batch of Sea Salt and a batch of Kosher Salt.
I smoked the Sea Salt using Hickory...





I then pulled what Hickory chunks that were left and smoked the Kosher Salt with Apple...


Both turned out pretty good but I have to admit that the apple smoked salt turned out the better of the two.

This is the greatest signature EVAR!

looks good to me, i would be making bloodymarys right about now. i noticed the smokiness disipates quickly with home smoked salts, i would wrap tightly in plastic wrap or seal it somehow for future use, maybe small foodsaver packetsfukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

I smoked each one about an hour and a half at 275 Indirect.This is the greatest signature EVAR!
