I had a great weekend with my buddy out on Lake Erie ice fishing this past weekend and thought I would try cooking them up with some butter, eggs, bread crumbs, salt, pepper and Todd's Crabby DIRT.
I was very impressed at the result of Todd's seafood seasoning and zesty rub.
I accented the fish with some chips and ABT's. I was stuffed.
I could not go without showing you my set-up out on the lake.
Sorry but if I had a safe way of transporting my BGE across the ice without damage I would not have to resort to this portable BBQ.
Good times.

Tim mentioned it was a good time. -
Wow Gary that is some good eats there!! Glad to hear you loved the Dirt!
Maybe Steve should get some lessons from you to actually catch fish when going ice fishing!! -
The DIRT is incredible.
Well Mike you know how it goes for Steve you gotta put the line in the water if you expect to catch and cook some fish. -

Looks likd a darn good day on the ice. Yellow perch are fantastic. All the chow looks good sept maybe that one licorice sausage. I've cooked a ton of those bad boys myself and have grown quite fond of them. Wish winter in this part of the world afforded such outings. You B smokin indeed.

That's my kind of meal and my kind of fishing too, although my set-up is a little more primitave than yours. Hehee.
Happy Trails~thirdeye~Barbecue is not rocket surgery -
iBeeSmokin', the Lake Erie perch looks great. I love to eat it, but it is such a pain to fillet enough to eat. (at least with my lack of filleting skills :( )
Really nice ice fishing set up you got there. I've never been ice fishing, but hope to some day. -
I thought you were supposed to ice fish at the ice fest. -RP

I grew up fishing on Lake Erie.Nothing better than the perch and walleye that come out of there. Thanks for sharing.

nothing like a winter perch fry check out the link to my home waters, i think im passing on the derby this weekend which ive been looking forward too, snow covered it last night so im not trusting it this year :( theres another derby the week after though
http://www.iceshanty.com/ice_fishing/index.php?topic=145067.0fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it -
One of the best tasting fresh water fish there is, right up there with Walleye, IMHO.
-
Nice catch.
-
Ice fishing is very relaxing, sit back smoke a few cigars and the fish are a bonus if they are biting.
The BGE does a really nice job with them as well. -
Wow that ice looks a little tricky.
We have a derby on the Bay up here this weekend as well but we have 12-14" of good ice.
Good luck fishing!
