Egg was froze shut

I have a cover but my egg still got froze shut the other day so I opened the top aand bottom and dropped a starter cube in it and it worked.

It was'nt my idea. I found this in the search feature of old posts and thought I would mention it if any one else has there egg freeze shut to.

BGE’s freezing closed has been a big problem this winter. Once your egg cools down to under 200° put a quarter on the gasket by the handle and your egg won’t freeze shut.

Yup, several times over the years as well as adhesive melting and bonding top to bottom.

Starter cubes works well.

I use the 100 watt light bulb to open. Takes about 30 min. This year has been the most mine has ever frozen shut.

I would just use a pry-bar.  Your mom may have one.

Just move to a place that doesn't freeze.  Problem solved.

I just move my egg indoors as soon as I'm finished cooking.
