My First Sucessful Butt

I cooked my first butt on the egg and it is wonderful. Got me an 8lb rubbed yellow mustard on it and some Dizzy Dust, put it on a V-rack and let it cook for 20 hours. It pulled apart ever so easy. My wife made Elder Wards vinegar sauce and we had ourselves some real NC barbeque.[p]Many thanks to those who responded to my Saturday morning post about my first attempt failing. I arranged the lump as per The Naked Whiz and Elder Ward and it made a huge difference. My fire went all night long and the results were really delicious. My neighbors still can't figure out how the Egg went 20 hours on the same batch of lump. Thay all own gas grills. I guess a brisket is next and then some jerky.[p]This forum has been very helpful and insighful. I've only owned my Egg for two weeks but I have consulted this forum and the archives daily for assistance. I have cooked on the Egg every night - except two when we went out to eat - and have enjoyed every minute of it. [p]Keep Egging!!
