Can the grill extender

also work for an elevated grid?

Deetwood,
The grid extender clips onto the regular grid, so if your regular grid is sitting on the fire ring, then the grid extender will be about at the level of the opening. Of course, the grid extender grid is a bit smaller in diameter than the 18.5 inch regular grid.[p]TNW

The Naked Whiz,
and if you want food way up in the dome, put the regular grid on top of an inverted plate setter, then the grid extender on top of that. . .that gets you up about 4 -5 inches into the dome. ..

mad max beyond eggdome,
...and just be careful in this setup that the dome thermometer is not sticking into your food when you close the dome, else you will think you will have a cold fire but will torch your food like I did one time...
