My butt's perfect! How bout yours?

After three miserable attempts at low 'n slow, I finally got it right. Almost 11 hrs indirect on a raised grid with mustard and dizzy dust with a 4 lb boston butt. I had to get up at 1, 4, and 6 but it was worth it. [p]Since I couldn't go to Eggfest, at least this is some consolation. [p]Thanks to the Naked Whiz and others for their low 'n slow tips. I couldn't have done it without you.[p]FYI the difference maker this time seemed to be making sure that big pieces of lump were on bottom. It really helps the air flow.[p]The one down side is that I think my wife is jealous of my perfect butt. She's always wanted one and now I get it first. Oh well, she's having a great Mother's Day.

Ham 'n Egg,[p]Got an 8 pounder on the egg, it's been going about 16 hours. Looks like it should be another good.[p]

  • Vogs,
Great things lay ahead for you. I am now basking in the surfeited afterglow of partaking of pure pig pleasure.[p]May your outside be crisp and tasty and your inside be sweet and juicy, and may your egg temp stay steady.[p]JP
