My grill/grid sooking surface
Sundown
Posts: 2,980
Yesterday a friend who owns an Egg came over and we were chatting while I was getting Mr. Egg ready for dinner. He commented on my grill. His didn't look like mine and he wanted to know why. About 4 years ago (I've had Mr. Egg for 5 years now) I purchased one of the grills/grids offered by another ceramic cooker. The cross pieces are much closed together. Little if anything will fall through. I'm not advocating anyone running out and go to "That side" ;>) but they do have a couple of items that aren't offered in our store. Oh, by the way, they don't seem to be any better about selling the aftermarket than BGE. So, it's up to us, the end users to discover what extras are available.

Sundown,[p]Quite a timely issue for me. I was thinking of getting an additional grill (considering the cast iron one). Is the one you mentioned on the "K" or the "P" site ... or some other?

Sundown,
www.grilldom.com has something called a "double decker rack" which fits perfectly on the Small to achieve a raised grid cook. Well, I say perfectly but in fact, you have to bend the three little tripod "feet" slightly to make it fit. Anyway, it's not pictured but I think it's 19.95. Well worth it if you have a Small and you want to use a raised grid.[p]To get around the BGE grid being too widely spaced, I often double up by using two grids perpendicular. Another workaround. You get pretty good at adapting, and the expression, "Works for me" is often used when Egging.[p]Cheers,
Gretl[p]Cheers,

OOOPS. That's www.grilldome.com (with an "e"). Now I remember, I'm the humble typo queen!
