Pinto Recipes/dutch oven

Im bored. I have pintos and fatback, a dutch oven, an egg, and I lot of time. Anybody got any Ideas? also,any good cornbread/sweetbread ideas?

Sounds like you are good to go. Soak the beans for a couple hours then toss them in the DO with the fatback. Salt, Pepper, maybe some chili's of some sort.
Cornbread/Sweetbreads are two totally different things. Gene is the cornbread boy, maybe he will chime in if you can't find the recipe here on the forum.

Cornbread, Jalapeno, Crimsongator


INGREDIENTS:
2 Cups Self-Rising Cornmeal
3 Tbs Sugar
2 Eggs
1/3 cup Oil
1 16 Ozs. Can Creamed Corn
1 cup Cheddar Cheese
Jalapeno Peppers to taste - finely diced
1/2 cup Onions - finely diced
Milk




Procedure:
1 Mix the ingredients (except milk) thoroughly. Add enough milk to make the mix the
2 consistency of pancake batter. Bake indirect at 400° F. until done. When a knife or
3 fork comes out clean, the cornbread is done. Let cool and serve with fresh butter.
