Got the inspiration from King's Hawaiian. Got the egg to 400 and put in the cast iron griddle. Stuffed the bread with sliced strawberries and then into the French toast batter. Onto the griddle for about 2-3 min each side and that's it I smoked a fatty before this rubbed with Raging River.

Is that thick cut bread. What did you use. It looks great!
  • I had to go to Panera because I couldn't find any bread thick enough to slice and stuff some strawberries into. So I bought a whole loaf and sliced about 1 1/2" thick.

King's Hawaiian bread makes the best french toast, it's the #1 favorite at this house, even more than brioche.
Egging on two larges + 36" Blackstone griddle
  • Really wanted to use that but no one around here had anything but rolls.

OK, thanks. I bet that would be just as great if slightly modified with pound cake and berries.
  • :woohoo: you could open a breakfast shack with that kind of cookin !! Great looking cook, BD

That looks great! Nice job. Was it perfect or would you change anything the next time?
  • Probably use a different bread. I wanted to use Kings Hawaiian but couldnt find anything other than rolls.
