FatMike pulled his text for some reason but he said he enjoys all the OT on the main forum and keep posting all "sh*t" and just move your mouse 1/4 or 1/2 inch and skip it and compared it to telling his 4 year old daughter not to jump in a mud puddle.

I agree with you that the Off Topic posts are fun to read and at times offer great information on unrelated topics.
But, the intent of this forum is not to catch up with your friends and buds. There are so many OT posts and OT replies that thread half a page and more.
If you say it's so easy to move your mouse down and skip OT posts why not just move up and join the OT forum site.
The major complaint from regular members is that not enough people reply to their posts on the Off Topic Forum.
This is true because "most" of the regulars never gave the OT Forum a fair chance to work. It will work if people would take the time to use it and not expect instant replies at first. It would not take long for all to start using the OT and build a following with thousands of viewers. But you have to give it a chance to work.
The Web designer took the time to create the OT forum but most members are to self centered and lazy to move the mouse from Topic to Off Topic side of the forum.
New users looking for information have to now look and weed through so many OT posts and OT replies to posts that started on topic. The pages move so fast and drop off the screen so fast now. I bet if you count all the OT posts and OT replies it would amaze you. Again, I still enjoy reading the OT stuff but it must be a real pain for new users just wanting general information. At times new users are even bashed for not scrolling down several pages or for not searching the archives first.
The bottom line is that this web site is now set up to service and help two groups of people.
The first is general BGE questions, help, cooking and Egg related events and products.
The second is a way to keep in touch with our good friends on this forum.
If we would all give the OT forum even a 30 day 100% effort it would work.
If we all used the OT and directed OT posts from the main forum to this forum it would work
and all would be happy.
I know some topics are viewed as border line but when a topic is started just to tell another member they were sent an email borders more on crazy ADD than BGE.

I agree with you,The forum would be ran over OT post ...actually I didn't even realize there was a OT forum until recently..not much traffic in it tho. I pulled the post to save face and not ruffle feathers. My inner child came out.. :evil: Since we are here..I see our lovely eggs got some more air time tonight on pitmasters.... A good looking lady smoking meat on a BGE..what a dream..oh yeah she is single now too...
