Still searching for info - Butts

Hey everyone - I am still searching for info on set-up, temp, timing, wood chunks, etc... for smoking 2 large pork butts on a large BGE. I have the rub recipe already, just need help on the rest. Searched the site but can't seem to find anything I understand...for instance: how do I set up the egg? What temp. do I keep it? How long does it take? What temp do I set my probe alarm? etc... Thanks...Lynn

greeneggonmyface,[p]Check out the Naked Whiz's Website, while you're there download a copy of The Wise One's cookbook. Both are invaluable tools to "green" eggers. You will find a very detailed method of building your fire ala Elder Ward style there also. [p]Good Luck, let us know how they turn out.[p]Later [p]Blaze

Fill firebox with lump to middle of fire ring, light fire, add 1st grill, drip pan, then 2 brick to raise 2cd grill. Put butts on and maintain 220 deg. until internal temp reaches 200. Cook time varies from 15-24hrs. Good luck
