1. Trexed a porterhouse steak Saturday evening. The single best steak we've had, and we have had ALOT come off the egg. Had to try it. I seared at 750 or so for a cuppla few minutes each side, pulled the steak off. tossed on some planked sweet potatoes and zukes/squash. let them sear as well, while the steak rested. Then I bumped everything down to 400 or so, keeping the veggies ON during this time. after 20 minutes, now cruising at 400, I yanked off the veggies and put the steak on for just under 4 minutes.
man o man....[p]2. joined the "cracked fire ring club". dunno when she gave out, but now i begots a firering what breaks down for easy travelling. [p]stike[p]

  • stike,
welcome to both the trex and cracked fire-ring club. .. trex is the only way to do em. .. (imho of course). .. .now, in order to gain tenure in the club, you have to melt your gaskets. .. don't worry, it will happen soon enough. . .. LOL
