Hi, I just recently added a Primo XL cooker  to my family, and I'm considering adding another ceramic to compliment it. Anybody here have experience with the Prmimo JR, and the BGE Medium. Can you share with me the similarities, differences and why one might be better than the other? Thanks

lovethebass, the forum rules do not allow product comparisons, such as this question or the thread several below yours. That said, they are both ceramic, perhaps spending time on this forum and the primo forum will help lead you to a decision. From the ruls:
DO NOT POST confrontational messages, such as product comparisons.
These always lead to chaos and disruption of the forum. Posts deemed to be confrontational, or in violation of any of the forum regulations, will be deleted. -
Hi,
I certainly understand. Without comparing products, what can the fine folks at this forum tell me about the small or medium BGE. Does anybody have exerpeince with a large or XL, and Small/Medium setup? How do you use two cookers vs just one. Thanks for your help.

I'm a small and mini man. What would you like to know about the them?
For the Small - I have plate setter, pizza stones in 2 sizes, GrateMates Deluxe package, CI and Porcelain coated 13" greates, CI 5qt Dutch Oven, and a 3 tier 10" pizza and jerky holder (it's actually a pie holder from Waffle House), and cedar planks.
For the Mini - I have a Mini Woo customized to 1 3/4" height on the way, 2 - 8 1/2" pizza stones, and several cedar planks cut down to 8".
Scrappy Do (Mini) is new but I cook on Scooby Do (Small) all the time...at least 3-4 times a week. It's a great cooker and will do everything from searing steaks at 650 to low and slow as low as 180. Heck - I had pizzas going the other night with Scooby screaming at around 675-700. I mean the thing was rockin hot!
Anything else - I love my Small and love what the Mini can do?

I have the XL-MED-MINI combo. I love the versatility of being able to cook at two or even three different temps. The XL was loaded with pork butt for Christmas Eve and MED was TRexing a few pork chops for dinner. There are a few times when I entertain with the family. Six slabs of ribs on the XL, hotdogs, ABTs, and other items on the MED.
Sorry I can't speak for the Primo. When I first started looking at ceramic cookers I visited all the sites. I spent quite a bit of time searching for different features. After using the EGG for a few months I realized that most of the other companies that sell ceramic cookers have a "gimmick". Please don't take this the wrong way. I'm not meaning gimmick in a derogatory way. I just don't see the need for a firebox divider and D shaped cooking grates.
One of the main reasons I bought the EGG over the other brands was the fact that the other brands kept comparing themselves to the BGE. I figured if the competitors are concerned about the BGE why not go with what they are trying to be. There are other reasons as well, the biggest is this forum. Not saying we wouldn't be open an honest with a member who uses a different brand, but there is a camaraderie here. We can help each other with different situations cause we know and have experienced similar events.
It all boils down to this. Buy what you are comfortable with, come here with your problems and successes, share some photos, ideas, and laughs with us. Just don't expect too many of us to have explicit knowledge of a cooker other than the BGE. -
Here's what I know for sure.
A. You could buy the Primo and be very bummed you didn't get the egg.
B. Or get the Egg and be as thrilled as the rest of us around here, for the rest of your life.
Search "Got my first egg" in the search bar and read for a few hours. -
well said.
