Anyone ever had them? They were what we lived off of up at WVU. Noonie has a fantastic recipe for them. Easy, easy, EASY!!!
Amazing how good they are.

    Wardster,
Just had some the other day. They are one of the things I don't fix often, but when I do, I can't keep them around. I just use crescent rolls, and the sliced pepperoni. Sometimes I will add cheese, but usually not. [p]WVU? Is that West Virginia University? If so, I didn't know you were from our neck of the woods. [p]~nikki

    tn slagamater,
You don't have to tell me. My phone has been rining off the hook ever since he decided on it.
Sure wish there was a commission thing going on here.....
I've turned 14 people on to eggs since my first.
    Have a great weekend!

    Hooter,
I don't want to steal my mans thunder... but he's not that good of a friend anyway. Just kidding!!![p]It's simple. Go to the grocery store and head to the Bakery Dept. Ask them for their Italian bread, but just the dough. Some will sell it, some wont.
While your there, buy a stick of pepperoni, about a foot long they come.
Cut the dough into... I don't know... 3-4 inch sections. Use flour and roll or knead them out into rectangles. They will only roll so far. Once there, cut the pepperoni rolls into slices lengthwise, to the length of your dough. Make sure you peel the skin off the pepperoni first.
Now lay the pepperoni 'sticks' into the dough and roll them up. Try to 'layer' them and put 2-3 straw width sticks in each roll, the more the better. We try to get them the size of a Deli Dill Pickle, for lack of better terms. Once rolled pinch the edges and sides.
Heat egg with platesetter, legs down, to about 375-400 and lay rolls on a cookie sheet.
Bake almost an hour or until they just turn golden brown.
    So simple, yet soooooooooo good.
I beg others to try this and see what they think. It may not sound great, but it is.
Noonie will be posting pics on the process soon.
Hope you enjoy![p]This also got me thinking of what else I can put into the dough.......
I'll leave that for another post.

Wardster,[p]Hey Now....I guess I better put my two West Virgina cents in here...Wardster was right with the recipe. Very, Very simple to make a good "roni roll". Just want to add one thing. Never, and I repeat Never, use pepperoni slices (like on pizza)...Just dosen't taste the same. Also, a little olive oil on the finges if you don't have flour, makes it easy to shape the dough as well. [p]Noonie
