How to keep BB ribs warm upto 3 hours?

Plan to cook BB ribs and prime rib roasts back to back, what's the best way to hold the BB while roasts are cooking? I'm thinking of wrapping finished BB in HDAF and storing in the oven's warming drawer at 170*. Help and suggestions please. Thanks. Happy New Year to all!

Double wrap in HDAF and then wrap that in a towel and stick in the ice chest just like butts...they will stay real warm for 3 hrs...or the warming tray of the oven works also..
just don't use towels in the warming tray.. :pinch: -
Thanks Kim for the speedy expert advice. Happy New Year and all the best to you and family!

When done egging, I wrap on 2 layers of HD aluminum foil.
I then wrap tightly in a heavy blanket and leave on the counter. I have kept BB Ribs HOT to the touch and moist for 3 hours. I see no reason they wouldn't stay hot for 4 to 5 hours.
I purchased 2 yds fleece (stadium blanket material) from walmart that is dedicated to my egg cooking.
Keep the foil seam at the top so the juices don't leak out into the blanket.

Happy New Year Gary. Let us know how your ribs turn out.
Stay warm my friend, Kent -
Depending on the size of the prime rib, do the them both at the same time, set the dome at 250 and figure the ribs for 4-5 hours, at the end you can sear both at the same time, yes it will work, this way everything is fresh, and ready at the same time. You can also do the ribs the day before in the 3-1-1 method and dont do the last hour, put the ribs in the fridge till the next day let them come to room temp then finish them off the last hours.

If I need to hold meat before serving I wrap and put in ice chest... then I open up the vents on the BGE and bring temps up to 350-400, Place regular bricks wrapped in HDAF on the grid for 30-40 minutes, pull them and wrap in towel also, put in ice chest with meat and mine will stay above 140 or up to 6 hours....
hope this helps

great idea on the fleece GG!

have you ever found any benefit to letting ribs rest like a butt or brisket? or is it such a thin cut of meat that it doesn't really matter?

Terry, too late to do BB ribs the day before! If you meant doing the BB ribs and prime at the same time it's not possible because I'm cooking 6 full racks on 3 levels using AR. Thanks for chiming in. Happy New Year!
