Hey everyone. I am extremly new to my big green egg and made a beef tenderloin for all my boys tonight. I got this recipe from a member of the forum and it turned out PERFECT! I started it with a dry rub and cracked pepper, put it in the fridge for about two hours and then got the grill ready.
Then, I got the Large BGE up to 600 and seared the tenderloin for two minutes on three sides. I pulled the meat off after all three sears and then wrapped it in foil. After taking it out of the foil, I got the Egg down to 350 holding steady and put on direct heat curled up in a half crescent shape. Here is what it looked like after about an hour and a half with an internal temp of 130 in the thickest part of the meat. The smaller end was 145 and was not overdone in the LEAST.
Here is the final product..... Of course I got into it before I took the picture but you get the point.
Thanks BGE community! I am LOVING my Egg!!!
