I hope every one is enjoying the first day of winter. I think family on Cape Cod had about 18" of snow yesterday. Here we are at about 49º at 9:30 this morning, Brrrrrrrrrrr!

Only three months to go!!! :woohoo:

Think warm happy thoughts,

Gator

Stay warm down there...some of the coldest days I have endured were when we lived in Miami.....brrrr

     :S
  • I have a friend on Cape Cod and will probably hear from him if his Internet isn't snowed in. I'm sure he will be bragging about it.

I was on Army maneuvers on Cape Cod back in another life (1961 or 62) and it snowed like 33". I parked my 3/4 ton truck up near some trees when I couldn't go any further due to the amount of snow on the ground and still falling.

I slept sound until morning. Woke to bright blue skies, thick snow covered trees and absolutely no sound to be heard. It was beautiful.

It can seem that way Kim, I have been down here so long anything much below 75º requires a sweater. I would move further south but I am running out of room. :(

I hope your winter is kind to you up there in Georgia,

    Gator

Gator, I wouldn't live in Vermont if I didn't like winter, but sometimes snow in may and this most recent frigid spell we've been having can get old! We missed the snow this time around but are praying for it so we can hit the snowmobile trails soon! Stay warm down there!

LOL, I'm getting shivers just reading your post Leroy. I think the Cape and South Shore can have some of the harshest winter weather. The humidity never goes down and the cold can cut right through you like a knife. I almost think I can remember that storm, I would have been 11-12 and living out side of Boston. I can remember plowing snow morning, noon and night just to keep up with it. Ah, the good old days! Ba Humbug!

Keep warm Spring, I hope you and yours have the best of Holidays,

    Gator

    Hey Julia,

Winter in Vermont is another creature all together, picture post card beautiful once it settles in. Mom's family was from Woodstock, VT., way south of you, and we spent many holidays skiing that area. I hope the snow gods are kind to you soon and you get to have a white Christmas.

Happy Holidays to you and yours,

    Gator

Hahahaha, that's a lot funnier then watching snowbirds drive down here. I don't miss driving in the snow and ice with all the salt rotting out the cars. I have a 1993 Honda Civic in great condition. It never would have lasted this well up there.
I had an old Wagoneer up there that I would put 4 retread snow tires on for the winter and it was awesome!

The Happiest of Holidays to you and yours fishlessman,
