This may be a stupid question, but can you cook bacon on the BGE? What's the best way to do it? Thanks!!

    Tom ,
I hope my friend Juggy shows up quick so he can tell how. I get the BGE to about 300, need an indirect setup so the grease doesn't burn everything and it will.
Soak some cherry wood for flavor and place wood in lump. Add that bacon to the grill and turn and flip constantly. It is fantastic but hard to perfect. Better cook more than 1 pound because 2lbs. don't last long around here.[p]CWM

Tom , the BEST way to cook bacon is layer it over a ten-pound beef brisket at about 220 or so. Let it cook all night and in the morning you have an absoulte treat coming. I don't think I've ever eaten any bacon as good. But I guess you can cook it by itself as well.

    Tom,
my method involves 2# of thick sliced bacon indirect using a couple of fire bricks face down and covered with foil to protect the bacon from flare ups that the fat would have caused. I use hickory chicks to get a great smoke flavor. and then a raised grate (aka a grill extender). I run about 250° then mist with apple juice in a Mr Mister. Flip at 45 minutes and keep an eye on it after another 30 minutes.
Now here's my added hints - the secret ingredient to every pizza I make is to take one of these pieces of bacon and carefully dice it and scatter them on the pizza. The other hint is after the bacon is done I cut thin strips of wax paper in order to separate each piece of bacon and stack them in a neat bundle then wrap and freeze.
