GonnaGetOne,
Rain, snow, sleet are all no problem for the Egg. People routinely post photos in the winter of the egg smoking away in snow storms. [p]TNW

GonnaGetOne,
This past winter has been very cold here in MD. In the peak of the cold weather I did an overnight butt cook where the out side temps were easily below 20F. I woke in the morning to rock solid 225 on the egg and a great tasting batch of pulled pork later that day.[p]When it rains... if it is a down pour or steady heavy rain.. I'll put a tent over the chimney to keep out the rain... no problems with cooks.[p]I've only had my egg since last May and man do I love it... definitely the best "cooking" device I have layed down $$ for.[p]Have fun...[p]

GonnaGetOne,
I agree with the others... I have cooked in rain, snow, sleet, sub-zero temps, etc. The egg handles them all just fine. It's the guy (or gal) cooking on it that seems to have the problems in those types of weather.[p]Matt.

GonnaGetOne,
...I personally don't have a need for the guru, and as far as weather, I think I can handle both concerns with one story.[p]We had a storm here in January that dumped 2 feet of snow on us, with some blowing sleet and a bit of rain mixed in.[p]I did a 19 hour cook (boston butt for pulled pork), overnight at 200 degrees, in the height of the storm, egg experiencing the full weather.[p]I went to bed around 10:30, 11, after shovelling an encroaching snow bank from the egg.[p]Got up with the kids at 6, egg chugging away at 210 or so.[p]They say the guru removes any worry on overnight cooks. I don't know how I could be less worried than I am now. The egg is rock solid, and unaffected by weather. [p]But one, start simple (don't go nuts buying every accesory in the world, barbecue ain't supposed to be complicated). When you feel the need, get some accessories, and sure, maybe the guru.[p]...but you don't need anything but the egg, lump, and match to cook better than you have, or better than most anyoine you know.
