About 1 year ago, as a result of my good bud Cornfed purchasing an Egg, I made my 1st post on this fine forum. As the months went on I have recieved state-of-the-art tips on Qin with the BGE.
I have developed a trust within all on this forum on Qin', and after this past weekend it has grown to such a greater level.
Now that I have actually physically met many of you this whole thing is so much more real. I didnt know what to expect on that day...was quite nervous. Cornfed and I rolled into the parking lot..TIM M shouts "THERE THEY ARE!!!"...and the day grew beautifully from there.
As I just stated, I didnt know what to expect. But let me tell you all...I am overwhelmed from the hospitality we recieved from all you great great people.
I am so very much honored for have shaken hands and spoken to the many of you....Jim W, TIM M, Spin, Cat, BBQFan1, Earl, The Colonel, Mr.Toad, MollyShark, Nature Boy, Mike O, Smokey,Gretl, Bdavidson, Teslomania, BluesnBBQ.
That greater level is...it's great to realize that, not only did I actually get to taste such extraordinary BBQ, but I have realized that all of you are such great people...you all have so much more to offer then great Q!
I thank you all for such great hospitality and friendship...I look fwd in building my friendships even more with you all, and developing new ones.
And, of course, I thank the departed Bill Miller who has made this all possible. And because I was so fortunate to meet all of you I am in a new light.

<p />Smokin' Todd,[p]It was really nice meeting you too. One downside to the Internet is the impersonalness of it. Get togethers like E2K are great ways to meet the people behind the keystrokes. I have enjoyed meeting a whole lot of folks from the forum and rarely have I met anyone I didn't really like right off. You, Cornfed (if he can get that Merk stock up for me), and everyone at Eggfest2000 were get people and I had a great time putting names to faces. I missed a few - but not many.[p]Here is a picture of the wood chunk Todd brought. This thing weighs around 1.5 lbs. Its solid cherry - now that is a chunk - I bet Brant would only need 2 of them for his ribs. Somkin Todd gave me this one and I will be chopping it up for use on my next cook, I know he gave away many others too. This will last me about 10 monthes, I thank you for it. See you soon I hope. That's Cat's hand, not mine!

    Tim M,
Smokin Todd gave me a huge chunk-o-cherry too. Thanks again Todd. BTW, that's my hand holding the beer on the right.

    Tim M,
Since you have been so good bringing stuff by, next time why don't you bring me a couple little chunks of that baby! Would love to try a bit. I'll trade you some ribs, or the lunch of your choice.[p]BTW, that is my hand holding the wood.

Tim M,[p]"impersonalness"[p]Is that a word? Kinda like my "forumable" statement I posted the other day. Sometimes I find that the English Language just doesnt have the right word for the context so I have to make them up as I go.[p]Seriously though, the website and pics look great Tim, gives us midwesterners something to shoot for.[p]Troy

Tim M,[p]Dang! That's not a wood chunk. That's about a couple of board feet of rough-sawn cherry lumber! I wouldn't burn that. :-)[p]You lucky folks. I wish I could have been there. I'm glad you had such a good time.[p]Brant

    Tim M,
Many have asked me where I recieved those cherry chunks from. This is the web address.

U can print out the order form from their website, and order over the phone. Very nice people to deal with.

    djm5x9,
Ummmm. That is what is left over from the black nail polish I wear. heeee![p]In reality, nails by royal oak. What didn't come off with soap remained for the duration. Thanks for bringing that up![p]NB

Nature Boy, I think you've had your hands and arms in the buttermilk too much. Ofcourse, the absence of hair is not hard to figure out to us back-draft eggers.

OK, Deal. I'll take an ax to that monster. I can get cherry chips (you can too) at BBQ Galore - but I never saw chunks of it. [p]Tim
