RARE steaks for beginner.
I can't wait! I am picking up my EGG today. I won't get home until around 5 so I won't have time to read the directions or watch the video. I figured that Steaks would be an easy place to start.[p]I have read Naked Whiz's site about grilling steaks but have a question. If I want a REALLY rare(blue?)steak, do I just sear it and skip the 400 degree cook? [p]I will be cooking 5 Med rare 2 inch Top Serloin Strip steaks and then my Blue steak.[p]How long should I cook the med rare ones at the 400 degree and how long on the sear?[p]SOrry for the stupid questions. I am sure I will understand more after I watch the video, just don't have time for the 1st cook.

I go pretty much by the book (Naked Wiz). [p]Monday I did (2) 2" NY Strips: [p]90 sec sear on each side at about 900 degrees & [p]3 mins on each side at 400 degrees after sitting out for about 25 minutes.
