What should my 1st meal be?

Nate Dogg,
I got my egg about 2 weeks ago. It does take a little practice to get the temps right. So I wouldn't try something too complex. My first cook that turned out great was spatchcocked chicken. It only takes an hour and is forgiving (as most things are on the egg). Here is a link to The Naked Whiz's recipe:

Nate Dogg,
You might also want to consider what your last meal should be. I.e., your last meal before you begin using the Egg. Food will never be the same... :-)

Nate Dogg,[p]My first cook on the egg was ribeyes and if I had to do it all over again, it would be ribeyes.[p]John

The Naked Whiz,
LOL...very true. I just counted up the days I have had the egg versus number of days I have cooked on it. 11 days, and 10 dinners. I had a scheduling conflict with my wife on the 11th day.

Chuck,
I'm with you on this one! Best 30 min cook there is!

WooDoggies,
Oh! I thought that andouille and veggie stuffed brisket talked about above WAS your first cook on the Egg. I must have been mistaken! ;-0
Great job, meng!

ps--I STILL say: the simplest, quickest and most rewarding first cook for every new Egger should be a lightly seasoned pork tenderloin. It's cooked at the easiest temp to control and maintain (300-350), there's no dwells or indirect set ups required, no funky marinading or pre-seasoning..... just great meat, a simple method, every last crumb is edible, it uses basic seasoning and the family isn't sitting at the back door wondering where the heck dinner is while you fret about damper placement etc......
Yes, Reeg, pork tenderloin IS my final answer...!
